EcoBana is an award-winning social enterprise and youth-led company in Kenya which works together with women, refugee outreach initiatives and young entrepreneurs based in different countries to produce biodegradable, eco-friendly, and hygienic sanitary towels made from banana fibres. With the knowledge of Design Thinking and the concept of a Green and Circular Economy, we aim to stop the utilisation of plastics in the manufacturing of sanitary towels by embracing organic and natural solutions to eradicating period poverty and enhancing gender equality with environmental sustainability at the core of operations. We are on a mission to break the cycle of poverty of intergenerational period poverty in Kenya and around the world. Taking action together means creating powerful shared experiences and solutions that spark a movement and turn our dream of a safe, healthy educated and empowered future for all into reality.
